Patreon - writing advice
I've been posting writing advice articles online for 15 years, for free. It's important that we all pass on what we learn. To allow me to continue posting while balancing a writing career and time with my family, I run a Patreon page. Tiers include writing process posts, behind the scenes insight, tips and techniques I use to create my own work, and all sorts of other exclusive content. There are currently only two tiers, the $1 tier for the blogs and news, and the $3 tier which gives you access to absolutely everything else.
Basically, I bring you behind the curtain and talk about how I work. Think of it as an ongoing writing & filmmaking seminar, tailored to your comments & questions. Every month, there's either a Nuts & Bolts writing process post or a Behind the Scenes post, along with several Patron-only blogs. It's all be from the perspective of an actual, working writer, who has been in the industry since 2003, showing you how I break stories and get the words down on the page, day by day.
One of my more recent patrons was Amanda Palmer, who is arguably the Queen of Patreon, so I'm going to say that my page has Royal Approval...
New posts go up all the time, and I’d love to hear from YOU what you’d like to see in there. What would you find most useful, interesting, or fun, or all three? Chat to me on Twitter, or check out the contact page here. This is aimed at writers, filmmakers, or even if you’re just interested in how the sausage is made. But do let me know what you want to see, this is for you, after all. And please pass it on to anyone who might find it useful.
You can also sign up for my occasional (very occasional, almost subliminal) newsletter here, for free, to make sure you don’t miss any announcements:
